The Spartanburg restaurant and night spot Dawg Gone hosted the first true Contenders reunion in August of 1992. Steve had car trouble on his way from Nashville and just made it in time to set up and start playing but even without rehearsal the band sounded great. This was to be the last time all five Contenders would appear together.

The photos are by Marguerite Wonsey, a Chapel Hill, NC, friend and fan who flew in from her home in NYC. The stage shots are from Saturday night and others show the guys hanging out at the motel the next day.
